Norton Internet Security 1.0.3 for Macintosh

　シマンテックは、Macintosh向けのバージョンアップしたノートンシリーズ4製品を発表した。いずれもMac OS X v10.1対応。発売は12月22日で、同時に「Love2 Mac応援キャンペーン」を実施し、抽選で「Apple iPod」などが当たる。

　発表された製品は「Norton Internet Security 1.0.3 for Macintosh」(限定特別価格1万1800円)、「Norton SystemWorks 1.0.3 for Macintosh」(同1万9800円)、「Norton Utilities 6.0.3 for Macintosh」(同1万2800円)、「Norton AntiVirus 7.0.3 for Macintosh」(標準価格9800円)の4種類。

　「Norton Internet Security 1.0.3 for Macintosh」はウイルス対策とファイアウォール対策の統合ソフト。「Norton SystemWorks 1.0.3 for Macintosh」はトラブル解決とウイルス対策の統合ソフトに加え、アンインストールソフト、バックアップソフトも搭載している。「Norton Utilities 6.0.3 for Macintosh」はMacintoshユーザーには定番のトラブル解決ソフト。「Norton AntiVirus 7.0.3 for Macintosh」は単体のウイルス対策ソフトとなっている。いずれもトラブル発生時に有効な「Mac OS 9.2.1」を搭載した起動用CD-ROMが付属している。なお「Norton Personal Firewall for Macintosh」は今回バージョンアップはない。

　旧版ユーザーへのアップグレードとして「Norton AntiVirus for Mac 7.0以降」、「Norton Utilities for 6.0以降」、「Norton SystemWorks for Mac」、「Norton Internet Security for Mac」の登録ユーザーには、Mac OS 9.2.1の起動CD-ROMが2,500円で提供される。

　「Love2 Mac応援キャンペーン」はこれらの発売と同時に行なうもの。「Norton AntiVirus 7.0.3 for Macintosh」以外は限定3万本の特別価格パッケージが用意されるほか、対象商品購入者には抽選で Apple iPod、デジタルカメラ、DVD-ROMドライブ、スキャナ、プリンタやシマンテックオリジナルグッズが当たる。
